LACOMBE, La. —

Three people were injured after a serious crash with an 18-wheeler Saturday night.

According to the St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 3, they responded to a call around 8:20 p.m. because of a crash involving a four-door sedan and an 18-wheeler on Highway 434. Advertisement

When crews arrived at the scene, they found the sedan pinned underneath the trailer of the 18-wheeler, with the roof completely removed.

The three people in the sedan were able to get out of the car on their own and only sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

They were all transported to a local trauma center for evaluation.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by Louisiana State Police.
