JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders declared Sept. 21 as a “Day of Prayer and Reflection” in remembrance of Charlie Kirk.

Kirk, a conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed at Utah Valley University Sept. 10 while speaking to a large crowd on campus.

Sanders designated the day “in tribute to the memory of Charlie Kirk and as an expression of public sorrow.”

Kirk was laid to rest Sunday, Sept. 21, at a funeral ceremony in Arizona.
