HOUSTON (KIAH) — Thanks to back-to-back losses to the Seattle Mariners this weekend, the Houston Astros are now projected to be out of the playoff mix.

Saturday’s 6-4 loss to the Mariners knocked the Astros out of the third wild card spot in the American League behind Cleveland, as well as two games behind Seattle for the AL West Division lead.

Houston will try to get back into contention on Sunday night in the series finale with Seattle.

Also adding injury to insult, Jeremy Peña was scratched from Sunday night’s game against the Seattle Mariners with left oblique soreness.

The Astros made the announcement approximately 90 minutes before first pitch.
