WASHINGTON — DC Police are investigating a shooting that took place over the weekend, which left both the suspect and the victim injured.

At 10:24 p.m., officers were called to the 200 block of 8th Street, Northeast, Saturday, for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found the victim, a man conscious and breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound.

A short time later, officers found a teen, believed to be the suspect, in the 400 block of 9th Street, Northeast, also suffering from a gunshot wound.

Both the suspect and victim were taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the teen approached the man with a gun and demanded his property. The victim complied, but then the teen told him to unlock his phone. That's when
