A man was critically injured in an accident involving a quadricycle and another vehicle Sunday afternoon in Montreal.

The collision took place around 12:50 p.m. at the intersection of de l’Église Ave. and De La Vérendrye Blvd., in the Sud-Ouest borough.

The driver of the quadricycle, a 79-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with an upper body injury. He was unconscious at the time.

“We fear for his life at this point,” said Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for Montreal police (SPVM).

According to initial information, the two people involved in the accident were traveling north on de l’Église Ave.

The quadricycle reportedly struck the passenger side of the vehicle at the intersection of De La Vérendrye Blvd. before being overturned.
