FOXBOROUGH - The Patriots were 4-for-4 on fourth down conversions until the final one.

The game was on the line. Down a touchdown to Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh with a little more than two minutes to go, Drake Maye & Co. were driving to try and tie the score.

They advanced to the Steelers 28, but faced a fourth and one.

Maye dropped back to pass, hit DeMario Douglas in the left flat. Douglas had a defenders around him. He opted to take a move back to try and circle around, only he was swallowed up.

Instead of gaining the yard, he lost a yard. That was the ballgame.

Following the 21-14 loss, Douglas said looking back, he would have taken a different tact.

“Probably knife, go straight up,” he said. “I thought I had a guy right behind me, that’s what made me move.”
