FOXBOROUGH — On Sunday afternoon, the Patriots turned the ball over five times for the first time since 2008. New England lost four fumbles and Drake Maye threw an interception en route to a 21-14 loss to the Steelers.

According to Pittsburgh, those takeaways weren’t just happenstance. Ahead of the game, the Steelers identified some bad habits from the Patriots on film and prepared accordingly.

“We knew those guys were ball (security) victims all week. They have a lot of fumbles on tape,” edge rusher T.J. Watt said. “Anytime you emphasize that throughout the week, it needs to show up in the game. It showed today.”
