(NewsNation) — President Trump on Sunday delivered the final speech honoring Charlie Kirk at the conservative activist’s memorial service, saying the 31-year-old whose life was cut short Sept. 10 will live on in American politics.

Trump’s more than 40-minute speech was equal parts admiring eulogy for the co-founder of Turning Point USA and political message, with Trump criticizing the left for trying to silence the values his young confidant stood for. Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot as he was making an appearance at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, in part to debate students with different political views.
