LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Throwing up L's in support of the University of Louisville Cardinals and a smile that never seems to waver.
Debbie Humphrey stood next to her family on the UofL football field for the college's Cancer Awareness Game.
But, years ago, Humphrey was told she wouldn't make it this far. Until she proved them wrong.
Humphrey was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of lymphoma in 2018. She was told by her doctors that she was not a candidate for a bone marrow transplant, the one thing that could save her life. Humphrey was told she would need to resort to palliative care and would have 8-18 months left to live.

That is, until she went to the UofL Hospital Brown Cancer Center and met Dr. Moh
