ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science is taking a break while undergoing a major renovation.

In the meantime, supporters and staff came out for the annual Tyrannosaurus Run on Sunday. Executive director Anthony Fiorillo said the run, now in its sixth year, has evolved into an event that's as much about fun as it is about exercise.

"It's just a fun event for people to get out, get a little exercise, get a little competitive. If they want, get dressed up," Fiorillo said. "But anyway, it's just a fun morning, beautiful day, and it helps support the museum in its delivery of its mission."

The run is made possible by the nonprofit NMMNHS Foundation, which supports the museum's exhibits, education, and research.
