DICKINSON — From fishing skills to gardening and leathercraft, Dickinson youth got a chance to learn during a wide variety of educational moments on Saturday, Sept. 20. Thanks to the NDSU Extension who organized the Discover 4-H event, attendees got to try their hand at programming a sewing machine to stitch their name, learn to cast a fishing line and even the basics of tracking wildlife.
Most of all, Extension staff members expressed a warm welcome to families who are curious about 4-H activities.
“You don’t have to live on a farm to be part of 4-H,” said Marilyn Larsen, the Family Community Wellness agent for NDSU Extension.
