GRAND RAPIDS, MI –– Dylan Larkin is no stranger to is no stranger to West Michigan’s hockey scene, playing with Grand Rapids Griffins just over a decade ago.
Yet, he still couldn’t believe Sunday’s spectacle.
Back in the city where his professional hockey career began, the three-time NHL All-Star and the rest of the Detroit Red Wings wallowed in a supercharged and sellout Van Andel Arena –– a lively location for the Red Wings’ Red & White Game.
“It’s an unbelievable atmosphere,” Larkin said. “I’m not surprised knowing the hockey fans here in Grand Rapids and I’m sure there’s people that drove from all over the west side of the state or all over the state to come and watch and cheer us on and show some support today. That was really special and something I’ll always remember.”
