All essential technology systems, including phone lines, have been restored ahead of Uvalde schools’ reopening, the district announced Sunday.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District said, in a Facebook post, it restored phones, internet, security, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as it prepares to welcome back students Monday.

The district closed all campuses last week after it found ransomware in its servers.

Investigators said there was no data breach involved in the technology incident.

The district contacted the FBI, which later told KSAT 12 ransomware attacks are one of the fastest-growing threats the agency investigates.
