Participants gathered on the Melbourne Causeway to shine a light on LGBTQ rights with the Light Up Melbourne with Pride event on Sunday.

This marks the event's second occurrence, with added significance due to the recent erasure of the Pulse crosswalk in Orlando and other rainbow crosswalks across the state.

Bill McKay, organizer of the Space Coast LGBTA Democratic Caucus, emphasized the importance of visibility and voice, saying, "We have to be here, we have to be seen, we have to be heard."

Participants marched to the top of the Melbourne Causeway, where McKay said, "When our rights are at risk, we stand up and shout out."
