The historic Shivaji Park Gymkhana (SPG) reopened its doors today after nearly a year and a half of renovations. For the management team, who see themselves as guardians of this iconic space, the moment felt as rewarding as a well-timed straight drive racing to the boundary.
The refreshed club now sports a modern look, with interiors painted in elegant shades of Wimbledon green and beige. A notable addition is the plan to launch a women’s cricket team, reflecting a strong push toward gender equality.
SPG received its Occupation Certificate (OC) on September 19, and just three days later, the doors have opened to welcome back its approximately 3,000 member families. The excitement is palpable.
