MYSURU: The famous Mysuru Dasara got off to a start with author and Booker Prize winner Bhanu Mushtaq offering prayers to Goddess Chamundeshwari atop Chamundi Hills along with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. This marks the beginning of the 10-day celebrations.

The Chamundi Hills were decorated with traditional rangoli and banana stalks to welcome the chief guest. Tight security arrangements were in place, with police checking every individual visiting the hill. Various folk art teams, including dollu kunita, Nandi dhwaja kunita, and vadya melas, have gathered at the Chamundi Hills to welcome the dignitaries.
