Port Isaac has gained fame through its appearance in the ITV hit Doc Martin, but the formerly peaceful fishing settlement is now reportedly overwhelmed with tourists.

The village also spawned the popular sea-shanty group, Fisherman's Friends.

Featuring whitewashed cottages that overlook a harbour, the Cornish village becomes packed with holidaymakers throughout the summer months.

However, reports suggest that the lower section of Port Isaac has experienced a decline in residents, with approximately 30 people remaining during the spring and autumn off-peak periods.

Whilst Port Isaac's appeal remains fuelled by its role in Doc Martin, which starred Martin Clunes, the settlement has historically attracted television and film producers, reports the Express .
