The 11th "Orígenes" art exhibit, which opened last week, will run through Oct. 15 in commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
The show, organized by the San Luis Library, features 60 works by 40 local artists.
“As we enter Hispanic Heritage Month, we take the opportunity not only to admire the beautiful and vibrant work of artists from Yuma County and the San Luis community, but also to honor our traditions, our history and our origins,” said Jairo García, exhibit coordinator, during the opening ceremony.
Paintings and drawings in different techniques, paper crafts and works made with other materials are part of the collection, with pieces from artists mainly from San Luis but also from other nearby communities.
García highlighted the participation of young people in the exhibit as we
