Booker Prize-winning Kannada writer Banu Mushtaq inaugurated the 11-day Mysuru Dasara Mahotsava today at the Chamundeshwari Temple amid controversy surroudning her participation.

During the inauguration, Mushtaq offered flowers to Goddess Chamundeshwari and lit a lamp, symbolising the festival's commencement.
