TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)—Hurricane Gabrielle strengthens as it is expected to pass east of Bermuda tonight, the National Hurricane Center announced.

Located about 210 miles southeast of Bermuda, Gabriella is moving toward the north-northwest at about 10 mph.

Gabrielle is expected to turn toward the north later today, followed by a faster northeastward or east-northeastward motion on Tuesday, the NHC said.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 90 mph.

Strengthening is forecast over the next day or so, and Gabrielle could become a major hurricane tonight as it passes east of Bermuda, the NHC said.

There are no coastal watches and warnings in effect.
