A young man was found dead just six days after pleading with doctors not to send him home from a mental health hospital . ‌

Patrick Liam Coyle, 27, from Wigan, was discovered at a flat in Accrington six days after being discharged, despite asking if he could stay, an inquest heard, reports Manchester Evening News. ‌

In the days after leaving hospital , Patrick’s mental health deteriorated, LancsLive reports. ‌

He went to A&E on March 7, three days after his discharge, asking to be readmitted. But staff deemed him safe to go home after he said he had no plans to take his own life.

Patrick was not heard from after March 8, and two days later he was found dead at his home in Barrington Close, Winstanley.
