EasyJet has issued a warning to passengers travelling to Europe next month as new border rules are rolled out across the European Union .
From October 12, the Entry/Exit System (EES) will come into effect, which will see travellers from outside of the EU having their photograph and fingerprints taken.
The scheme will be rolled out gradually across the 29 participating countries, so some travellers may experience the checks while others will not.
While it is being rolled out over a six month period, British travellers will continue to have their passports stamped. According to the European Union the EES is set to be “fully operational” from April 10 2026.
