_Prime Minister Mark Carney is leaning into international travel more than is typical for a rookie prime minister. One of his first actions as prime minister was an official visit to France and the U.K., and he’s subsequently jetted across the Atlantic at least three more times. Many of these visits have been accompanied by the signing of a “deal” or “plan” that is then touted as evidence of some new Canadian alliance.
