HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A young father coming home from work was killed just a block from his home, says his devastated mother.
Emilia Caxaj wiped away tears as she confirmed to ABC13 on Monday that her son, 24-year-old Felix Caxaj, was shot dead around 11 p.m. Sunday.
"He called a neighbor to come pick him up because it already got late," she said, adding that her son worked at a restaurant near downtown Houston. "He got dropped off at the corner, because he wanted to buy some food before he went home."
Felix was dropped off at the corner of Skyline and Unity, a block from the apartment where he lived. Family members said he had planned to go to the corner taco truck, which is open until midnight.
Houston police say an unknown suspect shot Felix moments after he got out of the frien
