Florida officials have announced a new tool to combat "violent extremism," allowing individuals to report any threats of violence against others.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the new portal following the death of Charlie Kirk. He said pictures, videos or even text messages can be uploaded.

"There will be no place here in Florida for political violence or extremism," Uthmeier said.

Uthmeier said teachers should not celebrate the death of Kirk and that actions will be taken in response.

"We need to be a country that wins with ideas and not deadly violence," Uthmeier said.

Education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas stated that teachers are tasked with protecting the health, safety and well-being of students.
