The dry spell is over.

After a 65-day span that saw just two instances of significant rain and worsening drought conditions in the Tri-State, rain is falling in the area on Monday.

And it won't be limited to just one day, according to the National Weather Service.

Much-needed rainfall in the forecast all week

Multiple rounds of showers and thnderstorms "will provide appreciable soaking rains boradly across the region this week," the National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky, noted in its morning forecast discussion on Monday.

Rain chances stay in the 80-90 percent range through Wednesday, then all to 40 percent on Thursday.
