A vehicle fire has resulted in part of the M25 being closed as firefighters battle to put out the blaze .

National Highways South East said the M25 in Surrey is closed anti-clockwise between J10 for the A3 , Guildford and J8 Reigate due to a vehicle fire.

"SurreyFRS are currently on scene alongside National Highways Traffic Officers," it added. 14:40 Tim Hanlon

AA update on M25 congestion caused by lorry fire

An AA alert shows the congestion on the M25 ahead of the closure between J10 and J8 on the anti-clockwise carriageway.

It states: "Severe delays of 16 minutes and delays easing on M25 anticlockwise between J11 A320 St Peters Way (Chertsey) and J10 A3 (Wisley Interchange). Average speed ten mph."
