CLEMSON — The ACC fined Syracuse $25,000 and issued a public reprimand for violating NCAA rules of "feigning" injuries by players following the Orange's 34-21 win vs. Clemson football on Sept. 20.

The conference cited actions by two Syracuse players in addition to the "concurrent action" by the coach in the team area were a "clear attempt to gain an unmerited advantage by stopping the game in order to secure an injury timeout." The ACC said this occured with 9:25 remaining in the game when Clemson trailed 34-14 and declared what the Orange did as “unethical and contrary to the spirit of the rules.” 

Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik expressed frustration about this issue postgame , suggesting Syracuse players were faking injuries to disrupt the Tigers' tempo on offense.
