Despite being the fourth MCU film, Tom Holland says that Spider-Man: Brand New Dayfeels like the start of a new era for the series. Brand New Day is the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, being released a little over a year after The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and is the final film before Avengers: Doomsday opens in December 2026. That, coupled with being a sequel to the $1.9 billion worldwide smash hit Spider-Man: No Way Home, puts a great deal of expectations on Brand New Day. Fortunately, it appears Tom Holland, director Destin Daniel Cretton, and the rest of the creative team at Marvel Studios are up to the challenge.
