President Donald Trump , while delivering remarks at Charlie Kirk's funeral over the weekend, revealed what he said were some of Kirk's final words to him.
While praising Kirk as a “great American hero” and “martyr” for freedom Sunday evening as thousands honored the slain conservative political activist, Trump made reference to Kirk's home.
"He was an all-American in everything he did and one of the last things he said to me is, 'Please sir, save Chicago,'" Trump said. "We're going to do that. We're going to save Chicago from horrible crimes."
Kirk was born and raised in Chicago's northwest suburbs.
