Shillong, Sept 22: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui has assured that the state government will take a call on the demand for upgrading adhoc schools to the deficit system based on the state's financial position.

His statement comes amid protests by the Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM), which has been demanding the upgradation of adhoc schools to the deficit system.

Rymbui emphasized that the government will make a decision based on its financial position, highlighting the complexity of the issue and the need for careful consideration.

"This is not a very new issue. This is an issue which is long pending but having said that, it is not very easy for the government to do because it involves huge financial implications," he said.
