A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire in the village of Goudhurst . Fire crews were alerted at 9.19pm to reports of a garden fire on High Ridge on Thursday evening (September 18).

Kent Fire and Rescue Service sent three fire appliances to the scene, and Kent Police sent officers, who arrested a man in his 30s. Goudhurst is in the borough of Tunbridge Wells , and is five miles from Cranbrook .

The fire caused damage to properties in High Ridge. A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called at 9.19pm on 19 September to reports of a garden fire in High Ridge, Goudhurst. Three fire engines attended, and crews extinguished the fire using compressed air foam and hose reel jets."
