LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - More than 22,000 absentee ballots are being prepared for mailing this Friday to Lansing voters ahead of the General Election on Tuesday, November 4.

A dedicated team of Clerk’s Office staff and volunteers will spend the next several days assembling the first batch of ballots and processing absentee ballot applications.

“The vast majority of these voters are taking advantage of joining the Permanent Mail Ballot list,” said Lansing City Clerk Chris Swope, “and will never miss an election again because they will be mailed a ballot, as long as they are registered to vote in Michigan.”

Voters can still apply for an absentee ballot or sign up for the Permanent Mail Ballot list by visiting www.LansingVotes.gov .
