Sinclair Broadcast Group decided to air ABC’s “Celebrity Family Feud" on its local TV stations instead of its planned Charlie Kirk special news segment on Friday.

Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group made national headlines last week after both companies threatened to not air “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on its ABC-affiliated stations following the late-night host’s controversial comments about Kirk’s assassination.

Sinclair Broadcast Group vowed to air a tribute to Kirk on its ABC affiliates during Jimmy Kimmel’s usual time slot on Friday night. But minutes before the tribute was scheduled to air, Sinclair announced that it would be continuing ABC programming instead of the Kirk special.
