CLEVELAND, Ohio - Officials say a husband and wife died in house fire in Slavic Village over the weekend.

William Swincicki, 57, and Michelle Terwilliger, 55, were in bed when a blaze broke out on their porch, Cleveland Fire spokesman Lt. Michael Norman said. The two had been married since 2010, Cuyahoga County Probate Court records show.

Firefighters learned of the fire just after midnight Sunday, and they were dispatched to East 52nd Street south of Fleet Avenue. When they arrived, crews discovered the first floor and porch were on fire.

Flames did not reach the room where the husband and wife were found. They were pronounced dead at MetroHealth Medical Center.
