LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Lake Charles Police Department have announced the arrest of a man they say was caught on surveillance footage trying to break into a business on Common Street.
Lt. Brenda Treadway says officers responded to Lake Charles Tackle around 1:51 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
When officers arrived they found video surveillance footage of the store that showed a man using a hammer-like object to damage a door and then go inside. Once inside, officers say the man removed a number of items and fled in a vehicle.
Using the footage, detectives say they found that he bore a resemblance to a suspect in a theft complaint earlier that day on West Prien Lake Road. That suspect had been previously released on a summons.
Police say the suspect was then identified as Jesse P. Roge
