Temperatures will be falling and rainfall chances increasing this week, as summer officially comes to an end at 1:19 Monday afternoon.

It’s called the “Autumnal Equinox”, when fall begins. Winter will arrive on December 21.

But during this time of transition get ready for a “wet weather” pattern to develop and linger through much of the week. Rain, at times heavy, should be expected over the next three days.

The best chance for heavier rain is Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. There is a slight-to-marginal risk for severe weather for parts of the area. Once the cold front moves through the area, the rain will taper off toward the end of the week.

Temperatures will near 90 Monday will fall into the 80s for the rest of the week, with rain ending before we get to the weekend.
