WASHINGTON — North Carolina House Representatives Alma Adams of Charlotte , Valerie Foushee of Durham and Deborah Ross of Raleigh wrote a letter to EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to uphold current climate policy to protect the state from further climate change.
In July, the Trump Administration proposed revoking the 2009 endangerment finding that showed greenhouse gases released from cars were polluting the air and harmful to public health.
These findings were signed into the Clean Air Act in December 2009 and serve as the foundation for regulating motor vehicles, power plants and other sources of greenhouse gases.
The buildup of pollutants has caused major climate impacts , such as worsened air quality, agricultural issues and extreme weather like Hurricane Helene.
