PHOENIX — James McCain, son of the late U.S. Sen. John McCain, has been appointed by Gov. Katie Hobbs to serve on the Arizona Board of Regents.
Hobbs announced Monday she was picking McCain to represent northern Arizona on the governing board that presides over the state's public universities.
McCain, a graduate of ASU and military veteran, said he was honored to be appointed to the board and looks forward to working with Arizona's three university presidents.
“As the Regent representing Northern Arizona, I am excited to help strengthen higher education across our state and ensure that students from every background, especially those in our Tribal and rural communities, have access to the educational tools they need to succeed," McCain said in a statement.
