A woman in Virginia who won a six-figure lottery jackpot using numbers picked by ChatGPT donated all the winnings to charity.
Carrie Edwards, of Midlothian, Va., matched four of the first five numbers plus the Powerball number on her ticket in the Sept. 8 drawing.
While that normally would have been $50,000, also nice, Edwards spent an extra dollar on Power Play, which tripled her prize to $150,000, according to Virginia Lottery .
Edwards picked up her winnings on Sept. 16, but immediately gave back to three charities — in the form of three $50,000 gifts.
It was the woman’s first time playing the lotto online, so she turned to AI to select her numbers, she said in a press conference.
“I’m like, ‘ChatGPT, talk to me… Do you have numbers for me?’” she recalled while speaking at a film
