NEW YORK (PIX11) -- The City of New York is suspending Alternate Side Parking rules on Tuesday and Wednesday in observance of Rosh Hashanah.

Drivers are reminded that parking within 15 feet of either side of a fire hydrant is illegal and that painted curbs at hydrant locations do not indicate where they can park.

Cars parked near fire hydrants will be ticketed. Parking meters will remain in effect citywide.

Vehicle owners are encouraged to check online or dial 311 for updates.
