Universal Ostrich Farms in Edgewood, B.C., has spent months fighting a cull order from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency that would result in the deaths of nearly 400 birds.

On Monday, police and disposal trucks converged on the farm. RCMP said in a statement that they were requested to attend the farm by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency “who was granted lawful authority to execute a search warrant.”
