The coming week looks to be peppered with periodic showers and thunderstorms in South Florida, but should not be quite as wet as last week, the National Weather Service said Monday.

“In general, it’s not looking as stormy as it was last week,” NWS meteorologist Sammy Hadi said. “The majority of the rain will be falling across inland areas.”

Tuesday morning should see a bit of sunshine mixed with coastal showers, giving way to cloud cover and afternoon thunderstorms migrating inland.

Forecasters warned of rounds of heavy rain coupled with poor drainage. “ Localized flooding will be the primary concern through the period, with the possibility that some areas may see repeated rounds of heavy rainfall over short periods of time,” the weather service said.
