Clairemont High School is on lockdown Monday afternoon following what the San Diego Police Department said is a “credible threat.”

Law enforcement is conducting a sweep of the campus, SDPD said. The department added that nearby Marston Middle School is also on lockdown as of about 12:30 p.m. out of “an abundance of caution.”

Police said that parents and guardians can go to the following staging areas: • 3401 Clairemont Drive at the YMCA; • 2800 Calle Way behind the Sprouts; and • 4272 Balboa Avenue at Canyon View Church of Christ.

“When the lockdown is lifted you may pick them up on campus,” SDPD said.

No details have emerged at this time about the nature of the threat. This story will be updated as more information is available.
