Make sure not to get behind the wheel of your car if you have too much to drink — especially this weekend as the Delaware Office of Highway Safety, Delaware State Police and local police are conducting a DUI checkpoint on Sept 26 in New Castle County.

Exactly where in the county the checkpoint will take place is unknown, but the state Office of Highway Safety said the enforcement will take place from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

"DUI checkpoints are a critical tool in our mission to prevent impaired driving and save lives," Delaware Office of Highway Safety Director Sharon Bryson said in a statement. "They not only deter dangerous behavior but also send a clear message that driving under the influence carries serious consequences.
