BOSTON —

Kevin White, a former Boston College High School theology teacher, was acquitted of a charge that he raped a student.

The verdict was decided by a Suffolk Superior Court judge on Monday morning. White chose a jury-waived trial.

The student was 15 years old at the time, between 2008 and 2009.

White's attorney, Douglas Brooks, said in a statement: "The evidence in the case demonstrated time and again that Fr. White was innocent. He looks forward to getting his life back after having his reputation tarnished for the last four years as a result of the complainant’s fabricated allegation."
