LEWISBURG — Preschool students at SUMMIT Learning in Lewisburg played in the dirt, rolled down a small hill and made mud pies Monday morning as teachers encouraged the outdoor play.
"They're free to explore and be creative," SUMMIT Executive Director Doug Bertanzetti said as a group of youngsters — with the help of a teacher — built a teepee out of sticks they found on the ground as another child clutched a magnifying glass and searched on her own for critters.
