SUNBURY — The Sunbury Police Department is shifting to modern community policing, adding non-lethal shotguns, carrying pepper spray, upgrading electronic weapons and a new body camera system that allows remote access from anywhere.

Police Chief Travis Bremigen said he has been making various trainings mandatory for officers, purchasing modern technology, and working random shifts on the streets with his officers to ensure the department is following protocols and providing the city with safe community policing.
