MADISON (WKOW) -- Badgers were spotted at Sandburg Elementary on Monday helping students get excited about reading.
The partnership between the Wisconsin Badger football program and Madison Metropolitan School District helps UW athletes give back to the community through the support of the district's reading literacy initiative.
It is the second year of the partnership.
By pairing high-interest books with Badger athletes, the goal is for the students to connect with role models and develop better reading habits.
"It was fun, you know, to give back to the community, meet some of the kids here at the school and then have them ask us questions and, you know, color, sign some autographs, stuff like that" said Owen Arnett, a safety for the Badgers. "It's just a really, just cool experience
