DES MOINES, Iowa -- Just last week, Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird signed onto a letter with 16 other states to call on universities to not charge excess for security fees, coining it the "assassin tax".

The letter comes in the wake of Charlie Kirk's murder on a college campus in Utah. The letter urges universities to not charge high security fees as it may be prompting speakers to not hold events at universities, and her argument is that it limits free speech.

Attorney General Bird discussed that letter, and the decision by the Iowa Board of Regents to have universities investigate social media posts relating to Charlie Kirk's death. You can watch the full interview above with WHO 13's Zach Fisher.
